English lessons in the Bern region

English lessons should be convenient, so the choice of location is yours.  You can have lessons in or around Bern: at your home, at your company, in your office, at your favourite cafe, or, of course, online from any location. 

For in-person lessons located outside of Bern, travel fees apply.

Of course!  I am happy to use Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams or any other video conference system for the lessons.  Homework is conveniently assigned and assessed via email or over Google Classroom.  

The price of lessons depends on the number of students, the focus of the class, and the length of the lessons.  If you start a Small Group Class with your friends or colleagues, the price can be as low as 26chf per person/per hour.  If you choose the more flexible option of Private Lessons, the price can be as low as 80chf per hour for a conversation course.

Our clients often have very busy schedules.  If you select the most flexible option, Private Lessons, then lessons can be cancelled without charge 24 hours in advance.  For Small Group classes and In-House classes, classes cancelled 5 days in advance of the scheduled lesson are free of charge. 

Mary’s years of experience mean that she is qualified to help you prepare for any of the major exams, this includes:

• the Cambridge general English exams:  the First, Advanced, and Proficiency
• Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) exams: the Preliminary, Vantage, and Higher
• IELTS (suitable for all levels)

Mary is specially trained at assessing English levels using the CEFR levels, A1 – C2.  Before lessons begin, you will receive a reading and writing test, and at your first lesson, Mary will be able to assess your speaking levels.  This way, you can understand your current level of English and therefore determine what your goals should be.
